“Khugar-e-paykar-e-mehsoos hai insan ki nazar”
(Human vision is accustomed to sensory phenomena) It is for this reason that the Divine Essence reveals Itself in sensory beings and therefore to find it in these beings is to become united and at one with the Divine Will and Purpose and not Shirk* at all. However not to find the Divine in the sensory realm and to regard this realm as completely other is indeed shirk…….. for instance, our mothers in their motherhood and our fathers in their fatherhood are only manifestations of the true mother and father; and the true mother and father and everything is He Himself Who is God. That’s why it has been said:
“Qibla ko ahl-e-nazar qibla numa kehte hein”
( the people of vision regard the qibla* as an indicator of the real qibla)
An-Nahl, pg 47-48
* shirk: associating others with God
* qibla: the direction which muslims face in prayer.
